This box was made from scrap wood that I scrounged from the bin on Granville Island. The dark wood is Brazilian walnut and the plywood is maple. Finished in natural lacquer and paste wax. I left the edges of the plywood visible, and butt jointed the walnut so it was obvious what it was made from. Most modern furniture is made from particle board and then covered with a thin veneer. It’s almost as though the manufacturer is ashamed of their manufacturing process.
